Nov 13, 2024 6:39 AM

Winter Storm Falco is forecast to sweep into parts of the Northeast Tuesday morning, just in time to make rush hour ugly.

(FORECAST: )

"It won't be the biggest snow storm in the world, but what's going to happen is it's going to impact an entire stretch of tens of millions of people," explained Dr. Tom Niziol, winter weather expert for The Weather Channel.

The New York City tri-state area is among the major areas that could see wintry weather Tuesday before rush hour starts, and the New York City Office of Emergency Management (OEM) issued a Travel Advisory. OEM is reminding people to check road conditions before they head out. The agency is also asking pedestrians to "have heightened awareness of cars" as they head to work Tuesday.

The city's Department of Sanitation has also issued a snow alert for Tuesday at 4 a.m.

Residents can monitor the status of the storm at , or by calling 311.

This latest brush with winter comes just days after Winter Storm Electra brought as much as half-a-foot of snow to parts of New York City.
