Jonas First Snowstorm to Dump Two Feet of Snow in Both NYC and Baltimore

With 27.7 inches recorded at New York City's JFK Airport, an all-time record, and a record-setting 29.2 inches recorded at BWI Airport in Baltimore, Winter Storm Jonas has become the first snowstorm on record to leave more than two feet of snow in both cities. Harrisburg, Pennsylvania also recorded their largest snowfall on record with 28.6 inches. Dulles Airport, outside of Washington D.C. recorded 28.3 inches of snow.

Jonas continues to expand its wintry footprint across the northeastern United States after dumping heavy snow and ice accumulations in the South and the Ohio Valley. At least 14 people have died in the storm, which has dumped at least 30 inches of snow on parts of four states and brought wind gusts as high as 85 mph along the Atlantic coast. Heavy snow continues to fall across a large swath of the Northeast megalopolis.
