Hurricane, Storm Surge Watches Issued for Northern Gulf Coast as Marco Enters the Gulf of Mexico

Tropical Storm Marco is now entering the Gulf of Mexico and new alerts have been issued for the northern Gulf Coast.

New this afternoon, a hurricane watch has been issued from Intracoastal City Louisiana eastward to the Mississippi/Alabama border, including Lake Pontchartrain, Lake Maurepas, and Metropolitan New Orleans.

A storm surge watch has been also been issued from Sabine Pass eastward to the Alabama/Florida border, including Lake Pontchartrain, Lake Maurepas, Lake Borgne, and Mobile Bay.

A tropical storm watch has been issued from the Mississippi/Alabama border eastward to the Alabama/Florida border.

Note, the forecast has changed significantly this afternoon.
