A 13-mile stretch of land known as the Isthmus of Chignecto is all that connects Nova Scotia to mainland Canada. It is vulnerable to flooding and locals fear that a major storm or hurricane could turn Nova Scotia into an island. One local mayor says he hopes Lee isn’t that storm.
