Butterfly's Amazing Launch at 2,000 Frames per Second
Butterfly's Amazing Launch at 2,000 Frames per Second
Nov 1, 2024 6:42 PM

Take a high-speed camera into the Amazon rainforest, and you'll capture amazing things you can't see with the naked eye.

That's exactly what the creators behind the "Smarter Every Day" YouTube channel discovered when they took a Phantom Miro camera into South America's massive jungle.

One the moments that wowed the crew was captured in the video above, when they were able to film a butterfly leaping off a leaf at 2,000 frames per second.

You can see more of the videos from the folks at "Smarter Every Day" at this link.

MORE ON WEATHER.COM: When Animals Attack

Johannesburg, South Africa

Chantal Beyer and her husband Sven Fouche, left, pose for a photograph with rhinos at the Aloe Ridge Nature Reserve near Johannesburg South Africa last weekend. Just after the photo was taken, the closest rhino attacked Beyer and its horn penetrated Beyer's chest from behind, resulting in a collapsed lung and broken ribs.
