10 Spectacular Images of Snow Viewed from Space

This image clearly shows the dividing line between fresh snow cover and bare ground right along the I-95 corridor in the Northeast.

One of my favorite things to do after a significant snowstorm is to view the "footprint" that the storm left behind on the ground. This "footprint" I am referring to is the swath of snow cover showing where the ground was whitened by the snowstorm in contrast to locations where the ground remains bare.

If sky conditions cooperate (free of clouds), this can be done using imagery from satellites orbiting well above earth.

Above you will find ten satellite images from NASA that show snow cover on the ground in different parts of the country during the last ten years.
