A woman and her two young children were killed when the family's car was caught in rushing flood waters during severe storms that tore across Texas on Wednesday, authorities said.

The incident happened at about 6 a.m. in what's usually a small creek just outside Dublin, about 75 miles southwest of Fort Worth.

Erath County rescue crews responded to the scene and found the woman's husband clinging to a tree. He was transported to the hospital, the Associated Press reported. Rescuers later found the woman's body in the swamped car. The couple's 7-year-old son was found 400 yards further downstream, and their 3-year-old daughter was found 3 miles downstream.

The same cluster of thunderstorms that produced flooding in north Texas produced severe weather late Wednesday over Texas Hill Country.

The National Weather Service confirmed a tornado damaged buildings in Bryan, near Texas A&M University in Brazos County, Wednesday evening.

The slow-moving cluster of thunderstorms caused serious flooding in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex early Wednesday.

A and burst into flames in south Fort Worth early Wednesday, but officials said it was too early to know if weather contributed to the incident. Several homes were evacuated and three horses were killed when the fire spread to a nearby stable, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported.

The storms dumped heavy rain on the Dallas-Fort Worth area, stranding motorists in the Dallas suburb of Carrollton and contributing to flooding at a parking garage at Dallas' Love Field Airport.

Drainage issues near a parking garage at Love Field combined with more than 3 inches of rain that fell overnight at the airport led to flooding at the garage, where dozens of vehicles were parked, KTXA reported.

Images posted to social media show cars submerged in at least 3 to 4 feet of water.

The airport tweeted Wednesday evening that the water was low enough for customers to reach their affected vehicles.

In the northwestern suburb of Carrollton, a rescue was reported, although details of the incident were not yet available. The city tweeted late Tuesday that fire rescue and the police department are " of vehicles stranded in high water at city intersections."

In Midland, tennis ball-sized hail was reported early Wednesday.
