A Texas grandmother was rescued in Iceland this week after an iceberg throne on which she was posing for a photograph drifted out to sea.

Judith Streng, 77, was vacationing in Iceland with her son Rob when they came upon what looked strikingly like a throne made of ice at Diamond Beach in Jökulsárlón.

“It was shaped like an easy place to sit. You can tell by , and I thought, well, it looks like fun,” Streng told ABC News. “When I got on it, it started to totter and a wave was coming in.”

Streng said a second large wave came and "made the throne kind of rock, and I could tell that I was slipping off.”

“I don’t weigh very much so it was a little easier to float off I guess,” Streng said.

Luckily, a boat captain from Florida, Randy Lacount, was in the vicinity and was able to rescue her before it was too late.

“He waded out into the roiling water and as it drifted out to sea,” Streng told Storyful.

Photos posted to social media by Streng's granddaughter, Catherine, quickly went viral, along with screenshots of texts sent to her by her father of the ordeal.

“Lost her kingdom when she drifted out to see! (sic),” one of the texts said. “No joke. A coast guard rescuer had to save her and bring her back to shore!”

Streng didn't seem to be too affected by the incident once the excitement was over.

“I’ve always wanted to be queen … that was my chance," Streng told ABC News.
