Severe Storms, Reported Tornado Batters Southern Turkey (PHOTOS)

Severe weather is responsible for the , according to Turkish news source Hurriyet Daily News.

Local media reported that the girl was hit by debris kicked up from the storm in the Kumluca district, which was reportedly hit by a tornado.

Photos from affected districts of Kumluca and Finike show buildings, cars and greenhouses damaged by wind and falling trees. Farmland and orange groves were flooded by heavy rain brought by the storm and large waves crashed against the Mediterranean coast near the city of Antalya.

At least 11 people were injured and two remained in critical condition on Thursday, Kumluca Mayor Yusuf Göven said. Rescue teams were deployed on Friday as after the vehicle in which she was riding was dragged into a stream by floodwaters.
