Law Enforcement Officers Have a Little Fun With Polar Vortex

Police departments ask criminals to take a few days off.Others have said "crime is canceled."

It’s about to get really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really cold in many parts of the country.

Schools and government offices are closing, and private employers are telling workers to stay home. Many law enforcement agencies are suggesting someone else take a few days off: criminals.

The Wyoming, Minnesota, Police Department used the "really, really" popular meme to ask folks not to commit crime during the cold spell:

The Police Department in Burlington, Vermont, had a snarky reply to the Wyoming PD. It tweeted:

"Due to the extreme cold and heavy snow predictions all crime and doing really dumb things has been cancelled until further notice," read a Facebook post Monday from the in Michigan.

The folks in blue at the asked criminals to "please wait until spring ... or at least until temperatures are warmer than a polar bear's toenails" before committing any crimes.

The in Illinois wrote on its Facebook page, "Due to the extreme cold and wind, the Westchester Police Department is canceling all misdemeanor and felony criminal activities. Criminals, please take note, it is too cold to commit crimes. Stay inside and read, watch Netflix, go on the FBI Bank Robbers website and help catch other criminals, anything, but for the love of polar bears, do not go outside and commit crimes."

The wrote on Facebook, "Despite the fact Michigan appears to be closing for this week, the men and women of GBTPD will be business as usual! However, we do request everyone keep their shenanigans and hijinks to a minimum! Hot coffee and warm donuts will only go so far in these temperatures!"
