A 13-year-old boy who went missing last week after he left his central Iowa home in the middle of Winter Storm Indra has been found dead, according to local police.
The body of Corey Brown from Marshalltown, Iowa, was found by the town's police department Sunday morning, bringing an end to a search in freezing temperatures and gusting winds.
"The Marshalltown Police Department regretfully reports ," police Chief Michael Tupper stated in a press release. "His body was located this morning at approximately 10:45 a.m. in a secluded area on the west side of Marshalltown."

Over 200 people gathered to form a search party for Brown starting last Wednesday, , according to the Marshalltown Times-Republican. Snowmobiles were used in efforts to search open fields more efficiently.
Over the five-day span Brown was missing, the average temperature in Marshalltown was around five degrees, , according to Weather Underground. The maximum wind speed observed during that time period was 35 mph.
Brown's went missing six months after that injured 22 people last July.
"It says a lot about really is," resident Kara Wilson told KCCI in Des Moines.
Tupper listed in the Marshalltown PD press release that there was no evidence indicating criminal activity was involved in Brown's disappearance, but it's still an active investigation and "all possible scenarios will be thoroughly investigated."
