Extreme Heat, Pollution Linked To Some Heart Attacks
Extreme heat and air pollution were found to be contributing factors to some heart attacks in a recent study out of China. Researchers looked at more than 200,000 cases of cardiac deaths between 2015 and 2020. It was estimated that 2.8% of those were affected by extreme heat and fine particulate matter pollution, with women and older adults being most at risk.
