The Weather Channel named Winter Storm Saturn on Saturday, March 2, 2013.
Snow hit the central and northern Rockies on Sunday, March 3, and spread into North Dakota by Monday, March 4. By Tuesday, March 5, the most significant snows had shifted into the Upper Mississippi Valley and the Great Lakes region. On March 6, snow took aim on the Appalachians and areas to the west of Washington, D.C. From March 7 to March 8, Saturn brought heavy snow and coastal flooding to parts of the Northeast, particularly New England.

- Top snow total: 29.8 inches in Milton.
- Official snow total: 13.1 inches at Boston-Logan Airport. 22.8 inches in Worcester (7th heaviest snowstorm on record).
- Coastal flooding: Significant coastal flooding reported along the Massachusetts coast during both the Thursday and Friday morning high tides. Scituate, Salem, Sandwich, Marshfield and Hull were just a few of the locations that reported flooding. A house collapsed on Plum Island, Mass.
- Top snow total: 23 inches in Staffordville in far northern Conn. north of I-84.
- Top snow total: 12.3 inches in North Cumberland.
- Top snow total: 13 inches in Acton.
- Coastal flooding: Several roads flooded in Saco on Friday morning with water battering some houses.
- Top snow total: 16 inches in Pelham.
- Coastal flooding: Flooding reported in North Hampton.
- Top snow total: 9 inches in Woodford in far southern Vermont.
- Top snow total: 15.5 inches in Chester.
- Official snow total: 4 inches at NYC's Central Park.
- Coastal flooding was reported along the Delaware beaches.
- Top snow total: 12 inches in New Kensington, Sarver, and Murrysville. All are just east or northeast of Pittsburgh.
- Top snow total: 11.8 inches in Highland Lakes.
- Coastal flooding: Coastal flooding was observed Wednesday afternoon and lingered into Friday morning at several points along the Jersey Shore including Atlantic City and Ocean City.
- Top snow totals: 14 inches at Swanton in western Maryland.
- Top snow total: 1 inchnear the extreme southern tip of the District.
- Top snow total: 20.3 inches at Fishersville, near Staunton in western Virginia.
- Official totals of 1.5 inches at the airport in Richmond, 3.3 inches at Dulles International Airport and 0.2 inches at Reagan National Airport just outside the nation's capital.
- Top snow total: 24 inches near Franklin in eastern West Virginia.
- Top snow total: 12 inches at Beech Mountain, in western North Carolina. Drifts reached 2 feet in some areas.
- Top snow total: 6 inches near Townsend and at Sams Gap in Pisgah National Forest, both in the higher elevations of east Tennessee.
- Top snow total: 4 inches on Brasstown Bald in the north Georgia mountains at an elevation of 2500 feet.
- A possible tornado tore the roof off Magnolia Baptist Church in Gibson in east Georgia. The storm also blew down one wall of the church.
- Other severe thunderstorms caused wind damage around Calhoun and several other parts of north and middle Georgia on Tuesday afternoon.
- Severe thunderstorms ripped several sections of the roof off Columbiana Middle School just before 2 p.m. Tuesday, damaging two classrooms. Winds were estimated at 70-80 miles per hour.
- Several other reports of tree and power line damage were received from central and northeast Alabama. Minor damage was reported to a few outbuildings in a few communities.

- Top snow total: 13.2 inches at Bigfork in northern Minnesota. As much as 11.8 inches at Winona in southeast Minnesota.
- Twin Cities official snowfall: 9.3 inches at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport.
- Top snow total: 8.6 inches at New Hampton.
- 4 inches of sleet fell in Mason City Monday night.
- Top snow total: 10.0 inches near Frenchville.
- Madison official snowfall: 6.5 inches at Madison Truax Airport.
- Milwaukee official snowfall: 4.3 inches at General Mitchell International Airport.
- Top snow total: 11.1 inches in Streator.
- Chicago official snowfall total: 9.2 inches at O'Hare International Airport. This was Chicago's biggest snowstorm so far this season and heaviest March snow day since Mar. 2, 1954. Only three other March days since 1884 were snowier than Mar. 5, 2013 in Chicago, in records dating to 1884.
- Top snow total: 10.8 inches in Saint Joseph near the southeastern shore of Lake Michigan.
- Top snow total: 12 inches in Portage; in second place, 11.9 inches near North Webster with drifts to 30 inches.
- Official Indianapolis snowfall total: 4.4 inches at Indianapolis International Airport.
- Top snow total: 10 inches in Quincy and Bellefontaine.
- Official Columbus snowfall total: 7 inches at Port Columbus Airport.
- Top snow totals: 4.5 inches at Florence and near Walton, both just south of Cincinnati.
- Official snowfall total of 4.3 inches at Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport near Covington.

- Top snow total: 36 inches near Bear Paw Ski Area outside of Rocky Boy in north-central Montana. The snow was described as "low density"; the spotter said he or she "could drive through in SUV with snow flowing over hood of vehicle."
- Drifts of 5 to 7 feet were reported northwest of Carlyle in Wibaux County of eastern Montana, where 12 inches of snow fell. Visibility plunged to 1/16 of a mile at times.
- Top snow totals: 2 inches near New Haven and Rockypoint in northeast Wyoming.
- Top snow total: 14 inches at Gothic in western Colorado.
- Official Denver snowfall total: 2.0 inches at Denver International Airport.
- Top snow total: 18 inches at the Canadian border entry station northeast of Sarles.
- Drifts of 3 to 5 feet were reported in Grand Forks County, near the town of Gilby.
- Officially 7.6 inches of snow at the National Weather Service office in Grand Forks.
- Top snow total: 5 inches at Lead in the Black Hills.
- Up to 1/4 inch of ice accretion from freezing rain occurred in parts of northeast South Dakota around Watertown.
