An East Coast snowstorm named Winter Storm Gail by The Weather Channel will hammer the Northeast and mid-Atlantic into Thursday.

In parts of the Northeast, it could be one of the heaviest snowstorms in a few years following in New York City and Philadelphia, among other locations.
