A fast-moving weather system will continue to spread snow across the Northeast region on Monday morning.
The snow will affect the Monday morning commute in the Northeast, including around the Philadelphia and New York City metro areas. Snow could be moderate to locally heavy at times for a few hours in the morning.
Most areas from Pennsylvania to coastal southern New England will see 2 to 6 inches of snow, particularly on grassy areas and other elevated surfaces. Roadways could also see slushy accumulations depending on the intensity of the snow, particularly in areas away from the immediate urban centers.
New York City's Central Park had picked up 5.5 inches of snow as of 10 a.m. EDT. That's the heaviest one-day April snowfall there since April 6, 1982 when 9.6 inches was measured.

By Monday afternoon, much of snow will have ended in the Northeast, and any accumulations will begin to melt as temperatures rise into the 40s.
