Tropical Storm Kyle has formed a couple hundred miles southeast of New York City with winds of 40 mph.
Kyle is moving northeastward and away from the United States. The storm may cause increased surf along the coast of the northeastern U.S. and will be a marine hazard as the tropical storm moves through the North Atlantic.

Kyle is now the earliest ‘K’ storm on record, beating Katrina, which earned its name on August 24, 2005.
