A T-Rex is on the loose along the Seine River in Paris, poised to take a bite out of the Eiffel Tower -- and attract the Tower's tourists.

The outdoor art installation is a realistic rendering of a tyrannosaurus rex fossil. It'sa 4-meter-high, 7-meter-long monster, built of chrome and aluminum by French artist Philippe Pasqua. The dinosaur is made of350 bonesthat were modeled off of a real prehistoric skeleton. It stands along the banks of the Seine River on the platform of the Compagniedes Bateaux-Mouches, a company that offers boat tours along the river, according to French website Archaeology of the Future.

According to My Modern Met, the figure was commissioned by Charlotte Bruel-Matovic, daughter of the founder of Bateaux-Mouches, in an attempt to promote contemporary art along the river. Tourists can capture a picture of the T-Rex with the Eiffel Tower in the background, creating a unique view of the Parisian skyline.
