With winter cold just around the corner, most people would hate to be stuck inside during a rather mild November day -- but that's exactly what happened in communities near Disneyland Paris Thursday.
A young tiger is on the loose and authorities told families in three towns to stay indoors.
Thursday’s weather was mild for November, with a high temperature of 58 and no rain, so you can imagine that people weren’t happy to be stuck inside.
The tiger was spotted in the brush behind tennis courts and a soccer field in the town of Montevrain, which is about 9 kilometers (5 1/2 miles) from Disneyland Paris.
The town posted a photo on its Facebook page, warning people not to walk outdoors near the area where it was sighted. Students were chaperoned on their way home from school to make sure they were safe.
People in nearby Chessy and Chalifert were also told to remain indoors or stay inside their cars if they had to travel.
A grocery store security camera captured the cat prowling in the parking lot, according to metro.co.uk.
Where the tiger came from is still a mystery.
The Parc des Felins, a wild cat animal park 29 kilometers (18 miles) from Montevrain, said all of its animals were accounted for. EuroDisney, the operator of Disneyland Paris, said it has no tigers in its theme park.
Disneyland Paris calls itself Europe's No. 1 tourist destination with 14.2 million visits in 2013. Officials at the theme park said no special precautions were taken Thursday inside the park due to the tiger.
