Season's First Snow For Some in Upper Midwest, Plains
Season's First Snow For Some in Upper Midwest, Plains
Sep 20, 2024 12:20 AM

Up to 10 inches of snow fell on Tuesday along a swath from northern and western Nebraska to southern South Dakota, northwest Iowa and central Minnesota.

Latest Radar

Wednesday, some wet snow may persist in parts of northern Wisconsin and the U.P. of Michigan before pulling away into Canada later in the day.

For some locations such as Minneapolis/St. Paul (1.8 inches) and North Platte, Neb. (2.2 inches), this was the season's first measurable snowfall. In both locations, the average date of the season's first snowfall is either Nov. 1 or 2, respectively, so this is right on par with climatology.
