He's the man who found the Titanic in its deep underwater grave.
Now, famed ocean archeologist Robert Ballard believes he's uncovered evidence that the story of Noah's Ark and the biblical flood were based on real events.
It all starts with a controversial theory that the Black Sea was once a freshwater lake surrounded by land, until it was flooded by a massive amount of water from the Mediterranean Sea.
Ballard was intrigued, and took a team to the area to investigate.
"We went in there to look for the flood," Ballard tells ABC News. "Not just a slow moving, advancing rise of sea level, but a really big flood that then stayed…The land that went under stayed under."
Ballard is convinced an ancient shoreline they found under the water is proof that a violent flood happened in the Black Sea.
As for finding Noak's famed ark, Ballard doesn't believe that's happening.
"It's foolish to think you will ever find a ship. But can you find people who were living? Can you find their villages that are underwater now?" he tells ABC News. "And the answer is yes."
