There might finally be some good news for frequent fliers who are sick of cramped, outdated cabins.
The new Embraer E2 cabin is promising to fix many problems with current airplane interiors, from tight quarters to issues with bathrooms, according to Fast Company.
Designers at Priestmangoodedrew up the plans for the new cabins, which include a redesign of the Personal Service Units– those things above your seat that contain a reading light, air vent and flight attendant button– Gizmodo reports. The PSU will be the size of a smartphone, which allows for overhead bins to be even larger. As much as40 percent more bin spacewill be available in theE2cabins, says a Wired report.
But here's the real kicker: Fast Company says each seat will have its own PSU, which means you won't have a stranger's arm pit in your face anymore.

First-class seats will be staggered, allowing for more leg and storage room. The design is also more convenient for airliners' needs, which could mean your favorite airliner will adopt the new cabins, Gizmodo adds. And keep in mind that Embraer's commercial clients include Delta, JetBlue, U.S. Airways and American Eagle, according to Fast Company.
The plane's cabin will shed a lot of unnecessary material to make it lighter, Fast Company also reports, which will lighten the aircraft.
The E2 jets will take off in 2018, the company announced.
