Hurricane Isaias Making Landfall in the Bahamas on Way to Florida; Tropical Storm Watches Extend to Georgia

Hurricane Isaias is making landfall in the Bahamas, will spread its impacts into Florida beginning later today, and has prompted expanded watches into Georgia.

The center of Hurricane Isaias is moving over the northern part of Andros Island, in the Northwest Bahamas, with maximum sustained winds of 80 mph.

Hurricane warnings continue in Florida from Boca Raton to the Volusia-Flagler County line. Hurricane conditions are expected to arrive tonight, and move up the Florida coast Sunday.

Finally, a tropical storm watch now extends from north of Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, to Altamaha Sound, Georgia.
