Huge Flash of Light Spotted Over New Zealand
Huge Flash of Light Spotted Over New Zealand
Sep 21, 2024 5:38 AM

At approximately 10:00 p.m. local time in New Zealand, Josh Sherborne spotted an unusual flash of light in the sky.

"On my way to the gym when — BAM — this comes out of nowhere," he said on his YouTube page. "I actually thought it was lightning."

"This was an exceptionally bright flash of light across the country, with many people saying they heard sonic booms that scared them and the animals," head weather analyst Philip Duncan for WeatherWatch.co.nz toldThe New Zealand Herald.

Meteorite experts also believe the flash was caused by some kind of "extra terrestrial material" or "space craft debris."
