Portions of the South will see some wet snow or sleet Friday.This includes areas from Louisiana to parts of Alabama, Georgia andthe Carolinas.However, the majority of the region will see a cold rain.The risk for snow will extend into southern Virginia and the southern Delmarva Peninsula Friday night.

Parts of the South will see a quick round of accumulating snowas cold air surges into the region and disturbances ripple through a southward dip in the jet stream. Black ice will also be a possibility across the south as rain or melted snow freezes on untreated roads on Saturday and Sunday mornings.
