A two-time cancer survivor has dumped the "bucket list" and is instead hoping to inspire others to beat the disease by traveling the world with a dream list of "things to do when you survive."

Greig Trout, 34, a former crime scene investigator with theMetropolitan Police in London, England and originally from Scotland, has climbed a volcano in Costa Rica, seen the Mayan ruins of Tikal in Guatemala, and visited the Galapagos islands since he began his journey in June after getting his two-year "all-clear."

is Trout's alternative to the bucket list, a wishlist of things to do and see before "kicking the bucket." Trout, who was first diagnosed with cancer at age 7 and again at age 30, thought of the idea while at the waiting room of a hospital in London.

The idea was designed for "for people suffering with cancer showing a double cancer survivor who has one kidney, a missing piece of bowel and deep vein thrombosis living a full and happy life after cancer," according to Trout.

Trout has created a website, which documents 50 ideas on the list, leaving a further 51 spots for suggestions from readers and followers. As he completes an item on the list, he posts videos and photos on the site and on his .

"Most books and travel journals concentrate on bucket lists and 'things to do before you die'," he said. "I thought it was time to inspire others to show them what is waiting for them when they survive."

As of January 7, Trout is in Peru, hoping to head to the legendary Inca site MachuPicchu.

With 101 challenges on his list, and numerous countries and adventures yet to experience, it's difficult for Trout to choose a favorite moment from his travels so far. But his experience in the Galapagos island does stand out.

"The nature was just out of this world," Trout told Weather.com. "It felt like I'd entered another world and you can get so close to the animals and they do not fear humans. It was a dream come true but best of all I got to spend my 34th birthday there. it was my first birthday since being diagnosed where I actually believed the cancer had gone. The past few birthdays I'd just been waiting for it to come back but on this one I felt strong, healthy and happy which was just a dream come true."

Trout, who is part of 's Every Moment Counts campaign, also counts working as a project manager facilitating young people completing environmental and community projects in Costa Rica and Nicaragua as a challenging — but memorable — experience.

"It was absolutely exhausting work, building a community center and constructing a fence in a national park," he said. " It was the most active and social I had been since being diagnosed so I found it very challenging but without doubt one of the most rewarding things I have ever done."
