An unidentified woman was rescued from rising water near Los Angeles, and later died in the hospital from a heart attack, Corona Fire Department Capt. Ryan Rolston said. In Escondido, California, the body of a man was recovered after he had been seen paddleboarding in floodwaters in the area.

Heavy rain has triggered numerous mudslides in California, including one in Sausalito that carried a home with a woman trapped inside and sent it crashing into another house early Thursday. The woman was rescued and is expected to make a full recovery.
Tens of thousands of customers remained without power Friday throughout the state.
