When the full moon peaks Tuesday evening, it will be known as the Buck Moon.

The July full moon earned its name because this is the time of year , according to Space.com.This month's full moon can also be referred to as the Thunder Moon, since this is when thunderstorms , and the Hay Moon, as farmers scramble to get their hay inside the barn before the pop-up storms begin, the report added.

The Buck Moon is expected to peak , according to EarthSky. At that time, the moon will still be below the horizon in the U.S., but the moon will be full all night and will appear full in the days surrounding the event, so there will be plenty of time for viewing, the report added.

Of course, the brighter moon will put a damper on viewing Jupiter, Saturn and Mars, , Boston.com reported. At the end of the month, however, skywatchers should be able to see some of the Delta Aquarid meteor shower from July 27-30, but the Southern Hemisphere will get a better show, Boston.com also said.

If you're looking for the moon Tuesday night, it will rise in the eastern sky early in the evening, peak at about midnight and disappear into the horizon nearest the western sky at dawn, EarthSky added.
