Another round of snow is moving through southern and eastern New Mexico, West Texas and the Texas Panhandle.Up to 30 inches of snow was reported in New Mexico.
More snow is falling from New Mexico into West Texas and the Texas Panhandle as a potent area of low pressure slides through the Southwest early this weekend.
This latest weather system had triggered a blizzard warning for New Mexico's middle Rio Grande Valley, including the city of Albuquerque, and the Sandia and Manzano mountains, though it has since been discontinued since snow has ended in this area.
Friday morning, State Route 80 near Bisbee, Arizona, was closed due to extremely icy conditions. Several inches of snow had accumulated in the Albuquerque, New Mexico, area by early Friday.
A blizzard warning had been posted for New Mexico's middle Rio Grande Valley, including the city of Albuquerque, and the Sandia and Manzano mountains. Wind gusts up to 50 mph were expected, with areas of blowing snow and whiteout conditions expected to significantly reduce visibility in the area.
The National Weather Service office in Albuquerque could not find any blizzard warnings ever issued for the city .
