Who would’ve thought that yetis love to have fun in the sun like the rest of us?
In a recent campaign from St. Petersburg/Clearwater, Florida, a yeti couple takes over the city, enjoying the beach and other attractions, and taking more than a few photos.
“We like to keep it playful and edgy,” executive director of Visit St. Pete/Clearwater David Downing told weather.com. “We took the yetis out, it was a hoot. Kids got the biggest kick out of it.”
The yetis were a big hit with a lot of passers-by that couldn’t help but snap photos as the fuzzy duo did some siteseeing and sunbathing. Their travels even took them up North, where the yetis romped around other cities such as New York, Chicago and Boston.

Situated in a state notorious for sunshine and relatively warm winters, St. Petersburg/Clearwater has become a place that hosts attractions year-round, versus just seasonally.
In the past, Visit St. Pete/Clearwater has had other quirky visitors vacation in their city.
“Last year we did a campaign with snowmen. The year before that was snow sculptures. We’ve also done snow stencils,” said Downing. “Who knows what it’ll be next year.”
