The snow from Regis is being caused by an area of upper-level energy streaking across the Rockies that will eventually combine with more energy over the Midwest. In addition, high pressure plunging down along the front range of the Rockies will result in an easterly upslope wind flow in eastern Colorado, helping to enhance the snowfall in that area.
