Heavy rains during monsoon season are usually the most precipitation Thailand will see. Now, though, the tropical Southeast Asian country can enjoy “snow” all-year round.
, a new Japanese-style snow theme park in Bangkok, offers its visitors the chance to experience a winter wonderland with activities like
The Euro-Japanese style theme park is constructed on the fifth floor of the Gateway Ekamai shopping complex. Covering around 3,229 square feet, Snow Town features a large snow playground surrounded by rows of houses that look like the historical town of Bruges, Belgium. The houses are actually restaurants that serve Japanese-inspired cuisine ranging from sweet treats to hot ramen noodles.
Though the park isn’t as cold as expected, visitors can experience the full effect of a cold climate by renting the variety of apparel for wear: snow boots, glittery jackets, ear muffs and even ski gear.
According to Snow Town’s , close to 4,000 people have visited the indoor ice wonderland. Though there are mixed reviews, both local residents and tourists will have access to a refreshing space during Thailand’s tropical summers.
