A 60-story high-rise in northeast China's Liaoning Provence is an elegant example of how nature can inspire architecture.

Shanghai-based Urban Architecture(UA) modeled the Fushun Greenland Center Super Tower after a rose -- a nod to the region's official flower. UA nicknamed the project "The Flower of New Town."

Six curved "petals" shape the building's exterior shell. The designers explain,"The cylindrical bud shaperepresents the harmony and beauty of the city."

The top 15 floors will feature sky apartments, where residents will have stunning views of a nearby lake and the newly finished Circle of Life structure, which is a 515-foot, 3,000-ton steel circle in the city.

"It will form the landscape and visual center of the city together with Circle of Life," UA says.
