From dramatic coastlines to lush, green countrysides, the UK is home to spectacular landscapes, and the photographers of this year's captured these landscapes in stunning images, showcasing the diversity and natural beauty of Britain.
A photograph of one of the most beautiful parts of Britain’s coastline, where the cold sea sweeps across warm-coloured sand towards a snow-capped cliff, won the top prize of this year's competition. Dorset-based photographer, Andy Farrer won the overall title of Landscape Photographer of the Year and the £10,000 (more than $15,000) prize. His photos was chosen, by the judges, from the thousands of entries that showcase the richly diverse landscape of the UK.
"Andy’s winning photograph of this beautiful area of Dorset’s Jurassic Coast is a gentle image with a simple, effective composition that reflects the mood of a cold, winter’s morning," said Charlie Waite, one of Britain’s leading landscape photographers and founder of the Awards. "It is believable and appealing, with the snow adding an interesting dimension to a classic scene."
