Students Transform Beach Into Sand Art Gallery at Tybee Island (PHOTOS)

North Beach in Georgia's picturesque Tybee Island was transformed into an art canvas for hundred of spectacular sand sculptures and castles created by students of the Savannah College of Art and Design for the in May.

Presented by the School of Foundation Studies, School of Fine Arts and the sculpture minor program, SCAD Sand Arts Festival featured competitions for sand castle, sand sculpture, sand relief and wind sculpture. Gray’s Reef National Marine Sanctuary also sponsored an Underwater Sea Creature Award for the best creation from the deep, real or imagined.
