Offshore Storm Scrapes Northeast; Brings Snow to Some in Early March

Most of the East Coast dodged a bullet Friday from an intensifying offshore low, but snow still caused some issues with the Friday morning and afternoon commutes across parts of eastern New England.

A swath of generally light to moderate snow pasted areas from the Midwest and Ohio Valley on Thursday, into the Mid-Atlantic and portions of New England during Friday.

Some locations picked up over 6 inches of snow from this system, including 7 inches in Louisa, Kentucky, 6.7 inches in Princess Anne, Maryland, and 6.5 inches in Cape May, New Jersey. Salisbury, Maryland, picked up 5.2 inches, 3 inches fell near Seabrook, New Hampshire, Topsfield, Massachusetts reported 2.1 inches, while 2 inches of snow was measured in the city of Richmond, Virginia.
