A nor'easter is likely to bring snow to parts of New England and the mid-Atlantic states just after spring officially arrives this weekend.
While the snowfall swath remains uncertain at this time, the best potential for at least 6 inches of snow will be from eastern Long Island to Rhode Island, eastern Massachusetts and Downeast and northern Maine, as well as the central Appalachians.
Light to moderate snow totals are most likely, but we can't yet completely rule out locally heavy snow along the I-95 corridor from New York City to northern Virginia from late Saturday through Sunday night.
This could pose travel headaches including flight delays out of some major Northeast hubs anytime from late Saturday into Sunday, and a challenging Monday morning commute in parts of New England.
