A broad swath of light to moderate snow blanketed areas from the Upper Midwest to the Northeast over the past three days. As much as a foot or more of snow was reported in parts of Wisconsin and Michigan.
A band of heavy snow left 6 to 10 inches, mainly on grass and vehicle tops, across northern Ohio and northern Pennsylvania, including Cleveland and Toledo. Snowfall rates in Cleveland briefly reached up to 2 inches per hour earlier Saturday. The combination of wet, heavy snow and some winds have lead to some downed trees and power outages, as well.
Rain changed to wet snow in eastern Pennsylvania Saturday morning, bringing the first measurable April snow since 2003 to Lancaster. By Saturday afternoon, precipitation had changed to snow into the Philadelphia and Atlantic City, New Jersey areas.
New York's JFK Airport even reported snow mixed with rain for a couple of hours around mid-afternoon.
