Marquette: 1,439.2 Feet of Snow

As cities in the Northeast grapple with what to do with all the snow that has fallen in the last two weeks, we wondered what locations around the U.S. have had to shovel the most.

The slideshow above answers this question by showing how much snow has fallen in 25 cities across the United States since records began. The cities were chosen based on the completeness of the data available, and most have weather records that go back to the late 1800s. All of these snow totals are through the winter of 2013-14.

For some locations, the amount of snow removed through the years is in the hundreds, or even thousands, of feet.
