Now this is a marriage proposal to tell the grandchildren about.
On Sunday, Eric Barretto was proposing to his fiancée during a sunset hot air balloon ride north of San Diego.
As hundreds watched, the balloon began to drift off-course, and out to sea.
Larry Giles,Encinitas Marine Safety captain, told the L.A. Times the balloon’s pilot decided to make an emergency landing in the water.
He tossed a rope to about 15 surfers and lifeguards in the water, who began towing the balloon to shore.
