He Wanted to Ask the Biggest Question of His Life, But Then the Hot Air Balloon Had Other Ideas

Now this is a marriage proposal to tell the grandchildren about.

On Sunday, Eric Barretto was proposing to his fiancée during a sunset hot air balloon ride north of San Diego.

As hundreds watched, the balloon began to drift off-course, and out to sea.

Larry Giles,Encinitas Marine Safety captain, told the L.A. Times the balloon’s pilot decided to make an emergency landing in the water.

He tossed a rope to about 15 surfers and lifeguards in the water, who began towing the balloon to shore.

Despite getting hit by a couple of waves, the pilot and his passengers, made it safely to shore without injury.

And in case you were wondering, she said "Yes."
