Frightening Plane Landing Caught on Camera
Frightening Plane Landing Caught on Camera
Jan 17, 2024 3:41 PM

You can’t fly through the air without flying through the weather.

The video above shows one way professional pilots keep us safe despite mother nature’s surprises.

When wind blows across a runway, it’s logically called a "crosswind."

According to aviation enthusiast and youtube uploader “flugsnug,” this pilot is battling a 50 MPH crosswind.

This technique is called "crabbing."

To compensate for a strong crosswind, the plane’s nose is pointed into the wind, keeping it from being blown sideways off the runway.

Right before touchdown, the pilot straightens out the plane, but some large aircraft can even touchdown at an angle.

According to "flugsnug," the pilot of this second passenger jet decided to make a “go-around," meaning to abort the landing and try again.
