Located twenty miles from the nearest town of Cantwell, Alaska, Igloo City is an igloo-shaped hotel that has been left to the elements for over 40 years. So big it can be seen from airplanes 30,000 feet in the air, the large concrete structure was never demolished even though the interior was never finished, and electricity was never installed. Despite going through several owners over the years, no one ever renovated it, reports Atlas Obsura. The building is no longer padlocked like it once was, and several travelers have been unable to resist exploring the derelict site.

Visitors should use caution if they approach the site, however, as the derelict building is very dangerous. Snow at Igloo City can be up to five-feet deep in the winter, and the empty buildings are now inhabited by a myriad of wild animals, including bears, wolves, and moose.
