You've never seen anything like the new theme park Dubai is planning.
Dubai Parks and Resorts will six theme parks in one massive, sprawling stretch of land spanning 25 million square feet. At a price tag of about $2.8 billion, it promises to make the United Arab Emirates a must-visit destination for any theme park enthusiast.
Within the megapark will be smaller theme parks with Lego, Bollywood and Polynesian themes, and there will also be a Lego-themed water park. In total, there will be more than 100 attractions, and that doesn't even include the separate dining and supermarket district, according to 9 News Australia.
If you're wondering how they'll keep all those guests cool when blistering summertime temperatures rise well above 100 degrees, thousands of trees and shrubs will be planted to provide shade, queue lines will be air-conditioned and many attractions will be indoors, according to the Associated Press.

The enormous park signals a shift for Dubai. A city built off the fortunes of the oil industry has started to look elsewhere for profits– especially due to the recent downturn in gas prices– and with cheaper flights comes, they hope, a rise in tourists traveling to the UAE, the AP also reported. Despite past failures in the amusement park industry, investors are hopeful that this grand project will be highly successful.
"While Dubai is already home to the world’s tallest tower, the world’s busiest airport, and a spectacular skyline, we take great pride in knowing that Dubai Parks and Resorts is a major step towards positioning the UAE further as a major global tourist destination, and fulfilling Dubai’s goal of attracting 20 million visitors by 2020," saidAbdulla Al Habbai, board of directors chairman at Dubai Parks and Resorts.
The park will open in October, according to the website, and is expected to welcome 6.7 million visitors in 2017, the first full year of operation.
