Florida is typically the place that comes to mind when Americans talk about retirement. But one home that's attracting retirees is 4,000 miles away from the Sunshine state.
The Elizabeth House, named for its original owner, is a cliffside home on Chile's Pacific Coast which provides unspoiled views of the water and the landscape.
The weather in Tunquen, near Valparaiso, can be compared to coastal California: mostly temperate and mild.Globally, more people retire to areas with similar climates, according to the latest Global AgeWatch Index.

The Santiago-based architects from Mas Fernandez say the home was attracting "visitors that are looking for a place to retire" within just a few months of completing construction.
"Thinking about a second home, it is inevitable to imagine a place with special features," the architects explain.
