Typhoon Mitag impacted Taiwan and Japan's southernmost Ryukyu Islands with high winds and heavy rain, then brushed by eastern China before heading toward South Korea. According to from Taiwan's Central Weather Bureau, the center of Typhoon Mitag passed just east of Taiwan, raking through Japan's southernmost Ryukyu Islands on Monday, Sept. 30.
